Unhanged Man

Unhanged Man is a 2D roguelike platformer set in a bored student’s notebook, where a hangman figure cheats death and must battle through dungeon-like pages filled with alphabetical enemies. The game features a unique word-based boss system, various stat increasing items, and an intimidating lineup of letter enemies. The game combines various levels, hack-and-slash combat, and engaging movement inspired by metroidvania titles.

In Unhanged Man, the protagonist is a Hangman who miraculously escapes an execution in a student’s notebook. Now, he must survive a perilous dungeon filled with alphabetical enemies, using the very letters he defeats to form words and acquire weapons and upgrades. Each stage of the game represents a different “page” of the notebook, with random stages and different enemy types.

The ultimate goal? Escape the dungeon and live freely as the Unhanged Man. Along the way, he will fight in boss rooms, collect power-ups, and face the ever-present threat of the gallows looming over him.
